BIOGRAPHY

Kathryn McGaugh is a native New Yorker who has happily made Wake County, North Carolina her permanent home for many years. As an art student at St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, New York, she had the opportunity to intern with artist HN Han in SOHO, NY and later studied with Henry Fantazos, who she owes her unique style and techniques of allegorical realism.

 

Since moving to Cary, North Carolina, McGaugh has used many of her personal experiences to represent her surrealist musings of today’s attitudes and her imaginative interpretations of life through her paintings and self-portraits. She creates art in her home studio which she shares with her husband and her dog Riley while entertaining her friends, neighbors and adult children with her outdoor dinner parties.
